We are financial guides
At Guide Advisors, we're all about bringing a scientific twist to investing for both individuals and charities. We aim to minimize unnecessary fees, decrease risk exposure, and fortify against vulnerabilities in the financial landscape.
We teach clients how to understand and apply the philosophy and principles of academic investing.
The Guide Mission
Our mission is to guide individuals and organizations to align the decisions they make around money to their purpose for it.
Are your investments aligned with your vision?
Only to the extent all cars are pretty much the same. Advisors share some things in common yet can differ dramatically in philosophy and practice. We teach clients to invest like a scientist instead of treating portfolios like a game of chance.
Some investors may appreciate coaching and education basic to prudent financial considerations. The plethora of web base investment venues tend to singularly focus on individual investments whereas education-based advisors speak to the context in which the investment lives.
Fees are determined by the portfolio one chooses to work toward long term investment goals. Low fee portfolios are more likely to produce lower returns over time. It costs more to acquire stock positions more likely to produce higher rates of return over time.
Great question. In general, one needs to know the advisor fee, the expense ratio, the turnover cost and the fund fee. Simply comparing the advisor’s fee is incomplete research. To take this a step further, Guide Advisor’s founder, Ronald Geer, Jr., produced a video addressing the difference between ‘fees and cost.’ Take a few minutes and watch it.
We typically devote about 40 minutes for an intake evaluation we entitle Discovery. The majority of these sessions are done via Zoom.

Why does an academic approach to investing matter?
Instead of throwing darts randomly at a board or going with gut feelings, academic investing uses serious brainpower to uncover patterns and clues hidden in numbers and human behavior.
So, while others might follow trends or leap before they look, academic investing is like the wise owl perched on a branch, observing, calculating, and making decisions based on solid knowledge and solid research.
